This morning, we graduated 15 thousand 492 beneficiaries of the food security and competency youth internship program by moving them from poverty to productivity. Our city, Addis Ababa, is making a real difference in moving vulnerable residents from poverty to productivity. This action is one of the five "Zero Goals" announced by the Honorable Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, and it is an indication that the great vision of "zeroing profiteering and begging" is becoming successful in our city. Over the past five years, more than 695,000 residents who were helped in the Safenet program have been transformed into productivity so that they can be self-sufficient and support their families. On the other hand, since 2014, when internships started in our city, 49,000 citizens, including the 8,852 youths who graduated today, have come out of poverty and unemployment, completed internships, and transitioned to business ownership and production. Dear graduates of today, Our city needs hard-working young people like you, who use the opportunities they get to make lasting changes in their lives and become role models for others. Your hard work so far is a great indication that you will create job opportunities for others beyond yourself and will become company owners with your vision and experience. May the Creator bless Ethiopia and its people! Mayor Adane Abebe
