Today is a day of good news for our teachers who are the builders of the nation and generation. Organized by 57 associations with legal personality, we have officially started housing construction today by providing lease-free cultivated land and facilitating financial options for 6,194 teachers who have saved their required 25% advance savings of about 4 billion birr. As a result, the teachers saved 25 percent and the remaining 75 percent were arranged with banks for financing, and 40 hectares of land with an estimated current average lease price of 24 billion birr was provided for free. In addition, the government provided the necessary support by covering more than 5 billion birr in compensation costs, organizing teachers into a union, carrying out design work and identifying contractors. In this way, we showed our respect for teachers. Teachers have done their part and have taken over the site today. We will continue to provide proper monitoring and support so that the construction of the teachers' association house, which we started today, will be completed without any disruptions.
